Pharmaceutical Press (PhP), based in London, is looking to appoint two non-executive directors. Pharmaceutical Press (PhP) is the publishing division of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and is a leading provider of authoritative pharmaceutical information used throughout the world.
Non-executive directors are asked to provide entrepreneurial guidance to PhP to combine profitability with effective risk management; review and approve PhP strategy, budget and business plan; and maintain oversight of the structure and governance of PhP.
The ideal candidate will have previous board experience, preferably in a similar-sized or larger organization; a track record of successful leadership in a dynamic commercial environment; familiarity with publishing and media issues (preferably gained directly by working in, or closely with, a publishing company); understanding of the objectives and ethos underlying the not-for-profit publishing sector; ambassadorial skills both within business but also within governmental, academic and professional bodies; and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
