Recently, the leaders of tech gathered in Washington D.C. for a series of working sessions to discuss cyber security, updates to the government’s computer systems and future tech trends. This interesting news came from CNet in their article, “Apple’s Cook, Amazon’s Bezos converge on White House.”

The meeting was hosted by the new White House Office of American Innovation, which is headed by President Donald Trump’s adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner, and the American Technology Council.

Some big names were in attendance, including Apple CEO Tim Cook, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Oracle co-CEO Safra Catz and IBM CEO Ginni Rometty.

Technology has been a hot topic in Washington. Kushner opened the summit by referring to the work that is needed to modernize the government and catch up to the private sector. “Together we will unleash the creativity of the private sector” to update government systems, he said, alluding to some of the improvements already under way.
