Social, cloud, analytics and mobile technologies have been the cool kids for the past few years. Some are predicting that artificial intelligence (AI) is the emerging tech trend with the biggest potential. Computer Weekly brought this news to our attention in their article, “AI tipped as top tech trend of next decade.”
The key AI technologies include deep learning, deep reinforcement learning, artificial general intelligence, machine learning, cognitive computing and conversational user interfaces.
Given the improvements we have recently seen in computing, many professionals fear for their future as machines threaten to overtake them. Rather than fear changes that machine learning will bring, it should be looked at as an opportunity for professionals to be excited. There will be changes, but those changes won’t completely eliminate the need for human professionals, they will just alter their contributions.
