Quality is important whether we are talking about fabric, craftsmanship or data. Data technologies and data assets have no meaning without quality. DATAVERSITY brought this news to us in their article, “Data Quality in the Enterprise.”
While data management professionals have been focused on refining the data analysis and reporting platforms, the quality of data has been overlooked. To add to the perfect storm, the low cost of data storage and data processing hardware, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), and others have all jointly contributed to the situation.
Even with the best of hardware and software capabilities, the brightest minds, and advanced analytics, data governance, data quality, and data stewardship have gotten all the attention, and in turn, all the resources. In an age of unstructured data, data has to be prepared properly before any kind of analytics can yield results of any value.
