2018 is just around the corner and with it will come new technological advances utilizing current favorites like big data, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning. Newer technologies like blockchain and edge computing will join them in the new year. DATAVERSITY brought this news to us in their article, “Data Science Trends in 2018.”
Intelligent data will not be out of fashion in the new year. The widespread use of AI in business systems and decision-making applications will continue. The next several years will see an increase in AI-driven apps and services as they are widely integrated into existing systems with success and demand.
The Internet of Things (IoT) is made up of semi-robotic, smarter versions of regular gadgets and equipment that makes our lives easier. Obviously that isn’t going anywhere, and will continue to expand in volume at even greater rates.
There will be new kids on the block (pun totally intended) and one of those is blockchain. Blockchains are secure by design and therefore makes it suitable for recording of events, etc. Blockchain holds promise for many industry sectors like the finance, healthcare, and content delivery.
