What is a digital workplace? There are as many definitions of the digital workplace as there are organizations. The digital workplace is meant to be a virtual equivalent to the physical workplace. This requires disciplined planning and management but can play a huge role in an employee’s productivity, engagement in work and workplace culture, and mental/physical well-being. KM World brought this interesting topic to us in their article, “Breakthroughs in Knowledge Management and Recommendations for Getting Data Under Control.”
In a few short years, organizations have gone from discouraging employees to use their own devices at work to expecting them to. The trend toward remote operations is growing. Knowledge management of both tacit and explicit knowledge gains new importance with technology and change in the workplace practices. The digital workplace is changing how intellectual assets are delivered to the enterprise, transforming how employees work with each other and the way in which knowledge is generated and shared.
