As 2018 nears the end, predictions are already beginning for what 2019 might bring to the world of technology and how it might affect and/or improve our lives. ZDNet brought this interesting topic to our attention in their article, “Digital transformation in 2019: AI, robotics, and IoT to play starring roles.”

What many refer to as digital transformation is really how technology will transform within an organization. But what’s in store for transformation in 2019? Research firm Forrester Research recently released a report with a number of predictions.

Disruptive operational change seems to be on the horizon, overshadowing or maybe encompassing all other predictions. In order to address customer demands and competitive pressures, there could be a shift from macro enterprise efforts to a pragmatic, dissecting view of digital investments. The end goal is to make incremental and necessary changes to operations.

Among the predictions nestled comfortably, is the Internet of Things (IoT). More and more organizations are planning to utilize this transformative technology in 2019 and going forward.
