We recently shared with you some taxonomy educational opportunities available at this year’s Special Libraries Association (SLA) 2019 Conference in Cleveland.
There is one more and it is a full day CE workshop – Taxonomy Design & Creation.
Taxonomies are becoming increasingly important and common for organizing and retrieving information. Through this CE course, information professionals can go beyond a basic understanding about taxonomies and learn the practical aspects of designing and creating taxonomies and thesauri so that they can take on or manage a taxonomy development project.
This workshop is considered a fundamental level and the speaker is Heather Hedden, Senior Vocabulary Editor, Gale, A Cengage Company, and author of The Accidental Taxonomist. Heather also provides taxonomy consulting through her own business, Hedden Information Management, designing taxonomies for both web and internal content management.
The SLA 2019 Annual Conference is scheduled for June 14-18, 2019 in Cleveland, Ohio. You can view the entire program here as well as register. Early bird registration is open until April 1, 2019.
