Working remotely from home has long been seen as a perk to a position. The assumed responsible behavior was a sign from your supervisors that you could be trusted to be as productive, or more, without physical supervision. Many employees would forego a monetary raise for this opportunity. As technology continues to advance, the capabilities for remote work has broadened. Many organizations are looking at the benefits beyond just employee satisfaction. Less physical space needed to heat and cool, provide amenities for, and actually staff with supervisors are quickly being seen as a perk for he organization.
Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning are speeding up the process of automation and support for mobile and remote workers. A recent survey of 100 IT decision makers at US companies with at least 5,000 employees found that 88 percent are either deploying or planning AI-driven automation initiatives, with 75 percent of those underway already seeing returns on their investments.
