Stratfor is known as a leading geopolitical intelligence platform and recently announced that Rebecca Lewis has joined Stratfor as the executive leader of its intelligence operations, geopolitical risk assessments, and open-source collection program. This interesting news came to us from Stratfor in their release, “Stratfor Hires Veteran Security Advisor and Intelligence Expert as Vice President of Intelligence.”
This is important for a variety of reasons. First of all, who doesn’t want that job title – Vice President of Intelligence? Second, women in STEM-related jobs is always cause for recognition. Lewis is an accomplished manager and national security strategy developer. Her expertise includes all-source intelligence analysis, national security strategy development and analytic tradecraft employing structured techniques.
Globalization and the opening of new overseas markets within the context of free trade agreements represent new and exciting opportunities for increased sales or reduced manufacturing costs. Geopolitical risk is a serious consideration that should be thoroughly assessed prior to entering new international markets.
