Artificial intelligence (AI) has permeated itself into every aspect of our business and personal lives. So it should be no surprise that it is very engaged in the design aspect of automobiles. This interesting news came to us from the Toronto online news, The Star, in their article, “Artificial Intelligence is transforming the automobile industry.”

A Microsoft representative recently outlined just how AI is affecting the auto industry at the Trillium Automobile Dealers Association. They suggested it could be one of the world’s most fundamental pieces of technology in the years ahead. AI has already found many useful applications in automobiles. Vehicles today have on-board sensors that alert drivers to potentially dangerous situations. Forward-collision warning systems, blind-spot monitors, adaptive cruise control, driver-assist steering and cross-traffic detectors are among the AI features that are making vehicles safer and more efficient to operate.

AI is transforming not only what vehicles do, but how they are designed and manufactured. The benefits of AI in manufacturing include greater efficiency, safety and flexibility in the manufacturing process.
