In a very timely manner, IBM launched Watson Works, a set of models and applications designed to manage workspaces, people and facilities as employees return to the office during the COVID-19 pandemic. This interesting news came to us from ZD Net in their article, “IBM launches Watson Works aimed at managing work’s new normal amid COVID-19.”
Watson Works is the familiar name and latest effort to launch products designed for the new normal of work, whatever that will look like. Some are embracing the full-on work at home model while others are experimenting with a hybrid model split between remote and on-premises.
With no surprise, Watson Works will be powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and models that will ingest information inside and outside of the company to make informed decisions.
Watson is most commonly known as the AI-powered contestant on Jeopardy. The question-answering computer system capable of answering questions posed in natural language was developed in IBM’s DeepQA project by a research team.
