Like many other organizations, the 83rd annual ASIS&T meeting will be virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic. These new and unusual times have called us all to be resilient in ways we never expected.
The meeting is scheduled for October 22-November 1, 2020 and will be held virtually rather than face-to-face in order to ensure the health and safety of members, staff, and the public. The technology conference on the theme: “Information for a Sustainable World: Addressing Society’s Grand Challenges”.
Houman Haddad is the Head of Emerging Technologies at the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) who has just won the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize. As the United Nation’s largest specialized agency, the WFP is a modern version of the peace congresses that the Nobel Peace Prize is intended to promote.
Haddad is the founder of WFP’s “Building Blocks” project, which seeks to harness the power of blockchain to foster interagency collaboration and create efficiencies. He will be the ASIST2020 Keynote Speaker
