Microsoft and Nuance have joined forces as one organization with the promise of using technology to meaningfully improve people’s lives. This interesting news came to us from STAT News in their article, “Microsoft closes $16B acquisition of Nuance, launching a bold experiment in health AI.“
Nuance has a long history in conversational artificial intelligence (AI) and ambient intelligence. They use technology and deep domain expertise to design solutions that amplify human intelligence and revolutionize how people interact with technology. Nuance is in more than 77% of U.S. hospitals and 550,000 healthcare clinicians worldwide, as well as 19 out of 20 of the world’s top financial institutions.
Collaborating with Microsoft now, they plan to work together to build upon these latest AI, digital and cloud advancements.
Interestingly, most organizations have little knowledge on how AI systems make the decisions they do. Explainable AI allows users to comprehend and trust the results and output created by machine learning algorithms. Explainable AI is used to describe an AI model, its expected impact and potential biases.
