Elsevier recently announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire higher education technology company Interfolio. The Scholarly Kitchen brought this news to our attention in their article, “Elsevier to Acquire Interfolio.”
Interfolio is best known for career management and impact assessment products. Elsevier’s acquisition will further strengthen it as a provider of platforms and services to the university provost’s office and office of research, as well as research funders.
Elsevier’s planned acquisition is the latest takeover in this business sector, where traditional journal publishers are increasingly attempting to turn themselves into academic data and service companies.
Making data accessible is something we know a little about. Whatever you are searching for, it is important to have a comprehensive search feature and quality indexing against a standards-based taxonomy. Choose the right partner in technology, especially when your content is in their hands. Access Innovations is known as a leader in database production, standards development, and creating and applying taxonomies.
