Embedded artificial intelligence (AI) is the application of machine learning and deep learning in software at the device level. How is it applied? This information was brought to us by Fierce Electronics in their article, “Fundamentals: What is embedded AI?“
Embedded development is often driven by the need to deploy highly optimized and efficient systems. AI is positioned to disrupt businesses either by enabling new approaches to solving complex problems or threatening the status quo for whole business sectors or types of jobs.
It is important to remember that AI is not a magic trick that can do the impossible. It’s a tool with which a magician can do a few tricks. Devices have the ability to run AI models at the device level and then directly use the results to perform an appropriate task or action. The cloud is still helpful from a data storage perspective, as data can be stored temporarily at the device level and eventually sent to a cloud server for safekeeping.
Understanding AI is important. Understanding how AI systems make the decisions they do, and as a result, how the results are being applied is key. Data Harmony is Access Innovations’ AI suite of tools that leverage explainable AI for efficient, innovative and precise semantic discovery of new and emerging concepts to help find the information you need when you need it.
