The American Society for Information Science and Technology’s (ASIS&T) 85th annual meeting is October 29-November 1, 2022. This year’s theme is Crisis, Transition, Resilience: Re-Imagining an Information-Resilient Society.

As part of the rich agenda, there is a panel discussion on Sunday, October 30 titled “Accessibility, Usability, Inclusivity: Information Standards, Guidelines, and Best Practices (ASIS&T Standards Committee).” This will feature, among others, our own Marjorie Hlava.

When working with text and loading to digital library systems, there are many standards to consider. When you add in the complexity of accessibility and other media formats such as audio and video the need for standards and adherence to them is even greater. This case study outlines how Video/Audio to Text to Tagging (VATT) translates audio files to time stamped text transcripts for indexing, classifying, and enriching the original content.

Registration is still open here. We look forward to seeing you there.
