Technology and the Internet has created a new definition of the word connectedness. We are more connected than ever. This is due to many things – the adoption of digital transformation technologies such as the Internet of Things, cloud computing and big data. This connectedness has benefits and downsides. Together we are better, but for cybersecurity concerns – it can snowball a problem extremely fast. How can we trust our connections?
One major component of digital transformation that can be used to measure its effectiveness is digital trust, which is defined as consumer confidence in how their data are processed, stored and protected. The role of cybersecurity in data protection and privacy is crucial. It is an enabler of digital trust and a key success factor of the digital transformation journey.
Metadata makes digital content findable. However, findability works only when a proper taxonomy is in place. Proper indexing against a strong standards-based taxonomy increases the findability of data.
