Emerging technologies like machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) are impacting various types of business and some in powerful ways. Researchers from the University of California at Berkeley have developed machine learning software that uses entries in electronic health records (EHRs) to shed light on post-COVID-19 syndrome, commonly referred to as long COVID. Health IT Analytics brought this interesting information to us in their article, “New Machine-Learning Model Identifies Long COVID Subtypes.”

With more refinement, models like these could help researchers determine whether a person with a positive COVID-19 test may be likely to develop long COVID. Once they can identify those people, researchers can determine what they have in common and what differentiates them from those who do not have long COVID, paving the way for better and faster treatment of patients with long COVID.

Most organizations have little knowledge on how AI systems make the decisions they do and as a result, how the results are being applied in the various fields that AI and machine learning are being applied. Explainable AI allows users to comprehend and trust the results and output created by machine learning algorithms. We are the intelligence and the technology behind world-class explainable AI solutions.
