There has always been fear surrounding artificial intelligence (AI) and, with the recent advances using natural language processing (NLP) and chatbots, it has increased by quite a bit. There are, however, perpetual advances in science. It’s up to us to find the benefits where we can. Analytics Insight brought this interesting information to our attention in their article, “Top 10 ways ChatGPT can help Data Scientists.”

Applications like ChatGPT is already able to help medical researchers and scientists write articles and abstracts, summarize data or information, provide suggestions for structure, references, and titles, make text more readable, or even generate a full draft of a paper.

Data science can easily leverage ChatGPT for a number of tasks requiring the processing of words or other code. ChatGPT can be employed in NLP tasks such as text classification, text generation, and language classification. It can also serve beyond text processing functions by helping data scientists improve customer service, generate creative content, and support research.

The real power will come when users understand it better. Most have little knowledge on how AI systems make decisions and, as a result, they are unprepared to understand and use the output created by those systems. Explainable AI allows users to comprehend and trust the results and output created by machine learning algorithms.
