Ironically, there is now legislation introduced in the U.S. House would prohibit the Dept. of Health and Human Services (HHS) from mandating that physicians use ICD-10 diagnosis codes.

And certainly, databases connected to and/or indexed with knowledge organization systems represent points of knowledge.
