Two years ago, Google Books was called out for their poor indexing and search results by a Berkeley professor. Google Books' fumbling search facility was a real challenge for researchers. Though Google offered to correct any errors that were brought to its attention, the professor doesn’t feel it is any better. Doing his own research, he continues to come across errors similar to those he brought to their attention two years ago.

FACT-Finder Travel is a new semantic search system that targets online travel agents. By allowing users to enter free text during search and interpreting what users are looking for, the company seeks to garner a following among online travel agencies. The system interprets what users are looking for and populates search criteria boxes with the correct information.

With two deadlines looming, can healthcare organizations be fully prepared? The Office for Civil Rights is randomly auditing for HIPAA compliance and this will continue through December 31, 2012. Right behind that is the October 2013 deadline for ICD-10 implementation. A recent survey showed most healthcare organizations charged with HIPAA compliance are not fully prepared for a privacy and security audit by federal regulators.
