Several software-as-a-service (SaaS) opportunities are working to bring social collaboration to both non-profit as well as for-profit organizations. One example is Socialtext, who has recently launched a strategic partnership with NetDocuments. ClimateWorks Foundation uses the Socialtext application to enable its global network of non-profits to collaborate and share best practices. This social knowledge exchange is a different approach for the non-profit sector.

We found this interesting piece of news on Information Week in their article, “Socialtext, NetDocuments Team Up On Social Collaboration.” Socialtext started out as a vendor of wiki software for the enterprise, and previously offered a rich text editor for wiki editing.
