June 9, 2010 – Timely and entertaining, this home-made video also stresses the importance of proper indexing and cataloging.
Students and faculty from the University of Washington’s Information School put together a fun, parody of Lady Gaga’s famous song, Poker Face, in this home-made video we found on the Librarian by Day blog. As entertaining as it was, there were some key points they brought out in their musical education that is good to note. “Don’t forget the database” was repeated throughout and that emphasized the importance of good indexing and foundations. Even a reference to proper Boolean search logic that can narrow and focus your search results more appropriately was part of a lyrical reference.
So if you are like me and the tune is now stuck in your head, maybe some of the words will remain as well and influence future work.
