June 10, 2010 – A reflection of the digital age we live in is on display at the latest exhibition of University of Westminster in London.

 ‘How We Became Metadata’ is an exhibition of photography, video, and craft works by artists from Brazil, England, Scotland, South Korea, and Switzerland on display from June to September of 2010. The exhibition bills itself as “data about data, information about information.” They assert that metadata has permeated our world and our culture. It undergirds every part of our day-to-day life, so why wouldn’t it be in our art as well? This content processing buzzword crossing over to the art world is not as odd as it first appears. It is just part of the continuing evolution of our digital world.
