June 28, 2010 – Yahoo!’s new partner, technology firm Healthline Networks, powers the revamped portal’s new search-specific tools with their semantic taxonomy.
Medical Marketing & Media lifted up this new pairing in their article, “Yahoo! Health hopes new apps, content boost advertising”. Yahoo! expanded its medical content offering, deepening content and offering three new search apps it says will enable advertisers to better reach target audiences. The changes are part of an effort by the web portal to cater to pharmaceutical and medical consumer goods sponsors. While being able to target consumers searching symptomatic content is desirable to advertisers, Healthline’s search-based app allows consumers to get the most relevant content they are looking for in a timely manner. Yahoo! seems to be making good use of its partner’s powerful semantic taxonomy.
