July 9, 2010 – Charged to build to build an ontology based repository for the Defence Intelligence and Security Group, Objective has signed a $10 million, five year, extension to its current deal with Defence.
As reported in Computer World’s article, ‘Defence extends Objective deal”, Defence will upgrade its current Objective deployment to version 7.5 for around 25,000 users within Australia over the next 12 months. Defence has used Objective as its electronic document and records management solution since 2000. Dynamic indexing with proper metadata is key to a successful records management program. A solid ontology provides leverage for tagging and ultimately, easy access. Apparently they were already happy with the performance of Objective and decided to continue that relationship.
