July 26, 2010 – Position² has launched Brand Monitor – a platform that enables companies to listen to, discover, and engage with social media conversations in real time.
This was brought to our attention by Mr.Web.com in their article, “Position² Launches Social Media Analytics Tool”. This new tool uses a custom indexing engine that stores and processes data from a variety of data sources. This is then classified, tagged, analyzed for sentiment and delivered via a dashboard in real time. Meta information covering such aspects as post sentiment, influencer scores, author profiles, and past conversations are embedded within each search result. All this real-time indexing can produce good results if you have a thorough taxonomy to provide comprehensive tagging. Can that be done in real time?
