August 3, 2010 – A very comprehensive Biopharmaceutical Glossary and list of taxonomies have been compiled by Mary Chitty, Library Director and taxonomist, Cambridge Healthtech Institute, Needham, Massachusetts. This glossary website can be accessed after a brief and free registration.

Mary Chitty has a long history in the world of taxonomy. She has written Federal Information Sources in Health and Medicine(Greenwood Press, 1988) and a number of book reviews. A board member of the newly formed Taxonomy division of  SLA and previously Head of Reference at the Library of the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, Boston, Chitty supervised the Air Pollution Technical Information Center at the US EPA Library, Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.

She started out as a picture researcher and fact-checker in the US and England. CHitty carries an MSLS from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill and a BA in anthropology from Yale.
