Dell Is Buying Clouds

January 6, 2011 – Dell has agreed to buy medical archive services company InSite One Inc. The company offers cloud-based healthcare applications that enable archiving of medical records and sharing of images.

CIO brought this news to our attention in their article, “Dell to buy medical cloud archiving company.” Combined with Dell ‘s Unified Clinical Archive service, the products will offer hospital and private practice customers the ability to access and share images, no matter which applications are being used. InSite’s storage-as-a-service product archives digital information and the metadata describing it together so that it can be indexed and retrieved easily.

Properly indexed content is key for findability, on the ground or in the clouds. It is important to choose the right product and the right partner to manage your content.
