With more and more information being accessible via digital libraries, it seems appropriate that The Fourth Workshop on Very Large Digital Libraries will take place on September 29, 2011 in Berlin, Germany.

Information seekers are more than willing, almost demanding, to have immediate and effective access to human knowledge that never before was available. That information has often been distributed via unknown or untrustworthy means.

Enter “very large digital libraries” (VLDLs). The event will focus on the problems emerging from the joining of very large digital libraries and data archives. Problems include metadata definition, annotations, search, preservation, provenance, and metadata aggregation. For more information about the event, visit their website.

This was brought to our attention by Cordis in their article, “Fourth Workshop on Very Large Digital Libraries, Berlin, Germany.”
