The National and University Library of Slovenia has adopted EBSCO’s Discovery Service (EDS) to index their library resources into a single, searchable catalog.
This started in 2010 when the library agreed to beta test the service. It didn’t take them long to be impressed with the search experience that EDS provided. Users were excited about the simplicity and search power. This was not the library’s first experience with EBSCO; they were already using EBSCO’s Integrated Search and other databases.
We found this interesting piece of news on Campus Technology in their article, “Slovenian University Powers Library Search with EBSCO.”
A solid taxonomy is needed to ensure the machine-assisted or fully automated indexing is comprehensive. Access Innovations is one of a very small number of companies able to help its clients generate ANSI/ISO/W3C-compliant taxonomies to make their information findable.
