The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has launched a cloud computing standards road map and a cloud reference architecture to help guide federal agencies to cloud computing technologies.
CRN brought this news to our attention in their article, “NIST Details Federal Cloud Standards Roadmap, Suggested Cloud Architecture.” These documents were designed to help federal agencies identify cloud standards they should adhere to when moving to the cloud. These documents, along with others from NIST and NIST working groups, will be compiled into the NIST U.S. Government Cloud Computing Technology Road Map, expected in November.
Of course we’re all for some standards. Maintaining security of your data in the clouds or otherwise requires a clear, consistent processes, i.e. standards. Access Innovations is one of a very small number of companies able to help its clients generate ANSI/ISO/W3C-compliant taxonomies.
