The analysts may keep screaming recession and the politicians are certainly talking about the economy 24/7, but in the storage software market things are looking pretty darn good. The storage software market has experienced seven consecutive quarters of growth during the second quarter of 2011, according to the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Storage Software QView.

MarketWatch brought this news to our attention in their article, “Ongoing Infrastructure Investments Carry Storage Software Revenues to Seventh Consecutive Quarter of Growth in 2Q11, According to IDC.” With so much talk about big data and the increase in the sheer quantity of data being produced, are we really surprised?
