Alfresco has released their latest community version of their platform at JaveOne, Alfresco Community 4, with many new features. Among those features are an improved user interface and tooling to allow support of popular technology trends, such as cloud computing and social media.
We found this interesting information in Enterprise Communications in their article, “Alfresco 4, Packed with New Features!” They also separated their content indexing processes from content management and replaced this functionality with their own indexing solution.
Alfresco 4 includes functions to publish content and status updates to social sites, such as YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Flickr and SlideShare. It is nice to see the forward thinking of including social media into their planning. This should be a big hit.
