Though semantic technology has become much more common in and out of the IT world, it is still ones of those terms that can cause you to lose your audience very quickly. The Defense Department thought so too, so they created an explanation of semantic technology using a brief video to address ontologies, natural language processing, etc. Did I lose you again? Just watch this.
Government Computer News brought this interesting information to our attention in their article, “DOD video makes sense of semantic technology.”
Did that make sense to you? Do you understand it better? Or is it a typical government approach to complicating while trying to simplify?

I would think being an “insider” in the information/data/metadata world would help. Hmmm. If this is aimed at the general public, I worry about the effective use of our tax dollars. But gotta give the in-house producers credit. I want that crystal data ball from the opening!
