The IC3K, 3rd International Joint Conference on Knowledge Discovery, Knowledge Engineering and Knowledge Management brought together researchers, engineers and practitioners on the areas of Knowledge Discovery, Knowledge Engineering and Knowledge Management.

Technorati brought this topic to our attention in their post, “The Semantic Web Is Getting Closer: The IC3K International
Joint Conference.” The conference was sponsored by the Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication (INSTICC) and held in Lieusaint, Paris, France.

Several recognized leaders gave keynote addresses at the conference, including Jay Liebowitz from the University of Maryland University College and Jan L. G. Dietz from the Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands. The keynote speakers were evident in their beliefs that the semantic web is not a pipe dream.
