New Partnership Working on Standards

The computer industry standards organization OMG and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) are working together on standards development, conferences and other resources.

We found this interesting information on Becker’s Hospital Review in their article, “Computer Standards Organization OMG, HIMSS to Develop Health IT Standards, Share Resources.” With this new arrangement, OMG will become an affiliate member of HIMSS, and HIMSS will become a domain member of OMG. One of the organizations’ goals is to guide health IT users on integration and interoperability of healthcare information by creating standards.

Obviously, standards are something Access Innovations can get behind. Access Innovations is one of a very small number of companies able to help its clients generate ANSI/ISO/W3C-compliant taxonomies.
