Taxonomies are not limited to scientific or biomedical data. They may be used more often for that type of data, but online retailer Plumbworld, is one of the outliers. This provider of bathroom fixtures and shower enclosures used the idea of launching new sites based on the products they already sell and their success came from developing a taxonomy that allows the customer to shop in the way they want based on their needs.
