New Joint Effort Offers Semantic Search

The American Society for Microbiology (ASM) and Publishing Technology have joined efforts to create a digital platform to host all of the organization’s published authoritative content online.

This interesting information was brought to our attention by What They Think? in their article, “Publishing Technology to build new digital platform for the American Society for Microbiology.” The new site will be developed on Publishing Technology’s pub2web platform and will house the largest single collection of microbiology research available.

With this new joint effort, ASM will offer its community of scientists, clinicians, authors and librarians a flexible and friendly online experience. pub2web’s semantic technology offers tagging and faceted search, which enables visitors to search, browse and discover ASM content quickly and effectively.
