One blogger compared the impending ICD-10 coding classification transition to the movie, The Perfect Storm. As challenging as the process is, I don’t know that it will be as tragic and dramatic as that. It will, however, be one of the most important milestones in healthcare technology.

This interesting insight was found on The Medical Practice Management Blog in their post, “ICD 10: The Preparations Begin.” The new ICD-10 coding classification system will have five times the number of codes to use for billing reimbursement.
