New York-based Precision Health Media continues to raise funds in venture capital, supporting their technology platform for health brands called ConditionMatch. The platform uses semantic analysis to identify Web pages that contain content about commonly diagnosed health conditions, such as diabetes, depression, and allergies. Then it places ads for products related to those conditions on appropriate pages. Thenm for instance, when you look up the symptoms of acid reflux, conveniently a coupon for Prilosec shows up on the side of the page.
This interesting news was found on Xconomy in their article, “Ad Tech Boom Continues With $1M Funding of Precision Health.” Semantic technology continues to advance in many venues, but consumer targeting seems to be a busy arena.
