The Medical Group Management Association wants the Department of Health and Human Services to do more than delay ICD-10 implementation. They believe additional steps should be included in the ICD-10 timeline for what they call “due diligence.”

Government Health IT brought this latest news to our attention in their article, “MGMA wants to add some steps to the ICD-10 timeline.” How long the postponement will be is yet to be seen, which only adds to the frustration. Now, if additional steps are added to the process, it could delay the end result even more. This could be detrimental for those who don’t understand the importance of accurate coding.
