Predictions Positive for the Publishing World

Simba Information predicts that publishing products and services will grow in 2012 by at least 3%. This increase will be led by the legal, science/technical, and medical segments. The leading delivery methods are print and electronic books, closely followed by online services and abstracting/indexing.

We found this information on MarketWatch in their article, “Simba Information: Global Professional Publishing Industry to Grow 3% in 2012.” Never fear, print books still maintain the larger part of the landscape for professional publishing, but their report did show double-digit growth for e-books. With iPad and other tablets, publishers are investing millions in electronic books, so that level of increase is not all that surprising.
