Experts are predicting that hospital employees can expect to earn slightly more in 2012, due to the focus on ICD-10 coding classification transition.
This interesting topic was found on Fierce Healthcare in their article, “Hospital salaries rise with increased focus on doc alignment, ICD-10.” A recent survey revealed that nearly 90 percent of hospitals and health systems are maintaining or increasing their salary budgets compared with 2011.
With the recent delay in the deadline by the Department of Health and Human Services for the ICD transition, I wonder if the predicted salary increases will pan out, and what other effects the delay will have.
