Health Language has partnered with Siemens Healthcare to offer enterprise-wide ICD-10 remediation services. Now Siemens customers will be better able to meet the ICD-10 compliance requirements.

Sys-Con Media brought this news to our attention in their article, “Health Language, Inc. Partners with Siemens Healthcare to Provide ICD-10 Implementation Services to Enterprise Clients.” The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) mandated an industry-wide transition from the ICD-9 to the ICD-10 coding system, with a current deadline of October 1, 2014.

The new coding system includes more specific codes for diagnoses and more codes in general, up to five times the number of codes in ICD-9. Medical coding requires specialized expertise and systems tailored to the regulatory requirements in which health care providers, hospitals, and doctors deliver their services. Training is very important, especially with the impending ICD-10 transition. That is why Access Innovations, Inc. provides training to a client’s staff and then offers quality assurance and validation services that can:

  • Minimize the risk of a coding error
  • Identify inappropriate or inadvertently applied tags
  • Display a “map” of coding distributions to allow management to get a bird’s-eye view of the coding assignment flow.
