Some may say that data modeling is key to the world of data management. We would say that using the proper modeling tool can define how important it is to the world we work within.

Two of the most popular modeling tools are PowerDesigner and ERwin. PowerDesigner is a veteran among data modeling tools. Version 16 of the modeling application saw its release earlier this year, with many new features to make users more efficient.

Dataversity brought this information to our attention in their article, “Trends in Data Modeling.” The latest version of ERwin is utilizing the cloud. Microsoft Azure is the Redmond company’s cloud computing service offering; ERwin Data Modeler for Microsoft SQL Azure is available either as a standalone product, or as an add-on to an existing version of ERwin.
