Data Deliberations

Big data seems to be on the tongues and minds of many business people. Hands are wringing as folks are unsure what to do with all the big data they are creating. Solutions seem to be presented daily, but how many of them really address the problem? Open source tools appear to be filling up that list of solutions. The Apache Hadoop framework of tools is receiving a lot of attention.

This interesting topic was brought to our attention by BeyeNETWORK in their article, “What Are They Doing with Big Data Technology?” Can the tools and technologies segregate information out of the data sources? I guess we will have to wait and see what comes from this utilization. I do know that the amount of data being created continues to multiply each day, and that real solutions need to be found for storage, access, and findability.
