Metadata Gaining Popularity

Metadata has become quite popular with the “in” crowd. Of course popular is code for loads and loads of metadata.

CMS Wire brought this news to our attention in their article, “Make the Most of Metadata: Take Control of Access to Your Assets.” The analysts are predicting even more metadata in the next year. So much so, it could clog the technology drains.

Okay, I am done with the metaphors, but metadata has become very valuable in digital asset management because of the value it adds to the cataloging, searching, retrieval and distribution of digital assets. This requires a solid standards-based taxonomy to index data against. Access Innovations is one of a very small number of companies able to help its clients generate ANSI/ISO/W3C-compliant taxonomies.
