There is a webinar called “Taxonomy – The User’s perspective”, being offered on Wednesday, July 24 at 11:00 a.m. CET, presented by the Office of Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) classification expert Thom Clark. This interesting news was brought to our attention by Marques Class 46 in their post, “Taxonomy: coming to a computer near you!”

OHIM’s TMClass classification system is offering their taxonomy tool currently and in the near future, taxonomy will also be integrated into the new e-filing systems being developed by OHIM´s Cooperation Fund program.

We know the power of taxonomy in achieving findability. However, without thorough indexing against a solid, standards-based taxonomy, it leaves the results less than comprehensive. Access Innovations is one of a very small number of companies able to help its clients generate ANSI/ISO/W3C-compliant taxonomies.
